"Married to a Pawn Shop"

Originally a painting, and later included in the Drunk Chick Trading
Card series, "Married to a Pawn Shop" marks a turn
in the career of internationally renowned artist Chris Wright as he
begins to explore the female form in a non-typical surreal fashion.

It is difficult to explain exactly what the intent is here, as so
many elements are combined to create an overall gestalt that neither
defines nor alludes to any single theme. We can clearly see Infractionist
principles at work, yet these are counterbalanced by the dominant
image of the nude woman.

Any attempt to conclude that a single representative idea is present
would be rather pointless, and such is the nature of the Infractionist
ideal, whereby the symbolic value of each image is a symbol unto itself
and yet holds no specific meaning outside the context of the whole
of the artists catalogue. If we were to try to put into words exactly
what we are seeing, we would note first of all the archetypical curvature
of the female form. Upon her back is an elaborate tattoo of a grotesque,
human-breasted raptor hawking cheap watches as it devours a worm and
lifts an anchor from the heart of an infracted city scape.

Her tattoo continues to her left arm, where we see a sky and a lawn
being mowed. To what does this refer? What is the hidden intention?
We could argue that we are seeing in these images some kind of self-misogyny,
the woman depicted being the sum of these ideas.

You will be enlightened when you encounter this print in person.

It is the Infractionist ideal that demands such questions never
be answered, creating a mind frame where logic collapses beneath the
weight of infinity.

Our collectors appreciate relatively small runs of each piece and
